Formed in June 2004, VO2 Max Events are a growing Sports Event Management company based in the Lake District, with a growing reputation in the UK - in 2008 we won the prestigious National Runnersworld award for organising the "Best Running Event in the UK in 2007" - the PUMA Trailfox Coniston Trail Race.

Graham Patten BSc(hons) - Managing Director

A former International orienteer and mountain runner, winning races and setting course records in more than 12 countries around the world. Three World Mountain Running Trophy appearances and an Orienteering World Cup in Finland, and Irish Mountain Running Champion in 1994 (whilst living there) were the highlights of a 30 year running career. Graham is still involved in active sport, but more likely to be paragliding over the hills and mountains than running up them. His collective experience from such diverse sporting backgrounds comes into full force during the conception, planning, design and delivery of VO2 Max Events.

Claire Boothroyd BEd(hons) - Event Manager

A former County gymnastic champion, and Primary Schools PE Specialist, Claire heads the Event Management team for VO2 Max Events. Claire is a fully qualified sports massage therapist and INWA Nordic walking instructor. As a former Head of PE at a busy Primary School, Claire's management skills can cope with the biggest of event management challenges.

Diana Howard - Assistant Event Manager

Diana joined the VO2 Max team in March 2008, along with her running partner Helen. Diana works part-time on a job share basis with Helen, and has two young children. Diana is a keen runner for the Lancaster & Morecambe club, and has competed in the Lakeland Trails events since 2005.

Helen Lamb - Assistant Event Manager

Helen also joined the VO2 Max Team in March 2008, along with running partner Diana. Helen also runs for the Lancaster & Morecambe club, competing regularly in the Lakeland Trails events since 2005. Helen also has a young family, and works alongside Diana part-time on a job share basis. Helen is also the lead singer for a popular band.

Christian Hoyle - Assistant Marketing Manager

Christian joined the VO2 Max Team in October 2007, quickly becoming "the voice" of the Lakeland Trails, with his entertaining commentary. Owner of a Beauty Salon in Kendal, Christian is an active and enthusiastic part of the team, bringing a wealth of expertise in marketing.

James Kirby - Website Designer & VO2 Max Sports Photographer

A keen mountain biker and "car free" advocate, James is actively promoting mountain biking in Cumbria through one of his websites. One of the directors of a Lake District company designing and developing websites, including www.vo2max.co.uk www.lakelandtrails.org and www.ullswatertrails.org. James is an Official Sports Photographer for VO2 Max Events.
